Cabin!

Mom and Dad had everyone to the cabin over the weekend.

The boys working on putting together the new fire pit.

Still working.....

Turned out they needed some more tools so Alex and Papa went to Toms and got what they needed.

While John continued to work on it.

The guys got it done, and we were all able to enjoy the fruits of their labor.  Papa and the grandkids!

Change is Good.

Tonight Bre got a new cut.  I know it doesn't look like it in the picture (just took to long to take) but she loves it!

A side view.

My girlies with similar cuts.

The Kukie Kookie!

Alex's school had a fund-raiser this year, and this is what I ordered.
I thought it would be fun!
I'm always on the lookout for something different to do with the kids.  I think that Grape, Cherry, Banana, and Blue Raspberry qualifies as different.

The first batch to go in the oven.

Having some fun.

And more cookies.

We had a blast!!
(and still have some dough left over)

Band Boy

Bre, Alex and I (the Mom) were honored to attend Mike's band concert this week.
I am so proud that he has stuck with his instrument these three years when so many of his peers have dropped band.

They played a lot of great music, my favorite being "Crimestoppers".  It was a mixture of the Law & Order (one of my favorite shows) theme song and Hawaii 5-0 theme song.  The band teacher convinced the principal to come play drums with the band!

In the middle of the song the D.A.R.E. officer came busting into the auditorium with his bull horn and siren blaring, yelling that a crime had been committed.  He then cuffed the principal and took him in the back and the kids started playing again.  When they came to the Hawaii 5-0 part the principal came running across the stage holding a boogie board wearing surf shirt, with the officer in pursuit.  The whole gag was hilarious!!!  I can't believe they planned it and managed to keep the whole things a secret from all the parents!!

We had a blast, and I look forward to attending more concerts next year when he plays as a high school student!

WE LOVED IT!!
